Die Tryin' traces the cultural connections between videogames, masculinity, and digital culture. It fuses feminist, psychoanalytic, Marxist, and poststructuralist theory to analyze the social imaginary that is produced by - and produces - a particular form of masculinity: boyhood. The Author: Derek A. Burrill received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis and is currently Assistant Professor of Media Studies in the Department of Dance at the University of California, Riverside. His work has appeared in Modern Drama, Social Semiotics, Text Technology, and in several anthologies.
