Archie's Sunday Finest
Continuing the Eisner Award-winning series of the rare Archie newspaper strips by Bob Montana, we turn our attention to his remarkable, full-color Sunday pages. In these rarest of all Bob Montana color Archie comics, we see his mastery of the Sunday newspaper strip format in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Included are the very first Sunday strips in which he brought the characters originally created by John L. Goldwater to Sunday morning breakfast tables across the country.

Über den Autor
Bob Montana was born into a showbiz family. His father, Ray, was a banjo player on the Keith vaudeville circuit and his mother, the former Roberta Pandolfini, was a Ziegfeld dancer. As a young boy, the future cartoonist and his sister would sometimes put on their dancing shoes and join their dad in his finale. It wasn't as a hoofer, however, that brought fame to Bob Montana-it was his talent at the drawing board. He drew inspiration from the facts, fantasy, feelings, and fun of his own high school days in Haverhill, Massachusetts to bring to life the Archie characters originally conceived by John L. Goldwater.
