Über den Autor


John Woodmansee, CIH, CUSA is the Education Consultant for Environmental, Health & Safety for the Department of Education within the division of the Connecticut Technical High Schools System (CTHSS). Prior to the CTHSS, Mr. Woodmansee held positions as the Supervisor of Nuclear Site Safety for Dominion Nuclear Connecticut, a Senior Environmental Consultant, and a high school Chemistry teacher. He has over 22 years of experience in the safety field, working in educational institutions, general industry, and construction environments. Mr. Woodmansee holds a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health Management with a concentration in Industrial Hygiene from the University of New Haven and Bachelor of Science in Renewable Natural Resources from the University of Connecticut. Within the CTHSS John has served as the Department of Education's Subject Matter Expert to the Mass Care Working Group of the Regional Collaboration Subcommittee, a member of the Threat Assessment Team, and the Planning Section Chief for Influenza Pandemic Continuity of Operations Plan. He is a member of the CT Young Worker Safety Team, Connecticut Schools Indoor Environment Resource Team, and several other statewide advisory committees. Mr. Woodmansee was also a member of the planning committee for the 2008 Governor's School and College Security Conference and sat on the board of directors for the non-profit charity Connecticut Safe Communities Coalition. Mr. Woodmansee recently has collaborated with members of the State and Local Police to determine the necessary security measures statewide for the CTHSS facilities. John has led the development of the Crisis Response Programs for CTHSS which includes a School Emergency Guide, Administrator's Pre-Incident Planning Guide, Administrator's Incident Response Guide and School Crisis Response Guide. He partnered with American Federation of Teachers, University of Connecticut Health Center, and State Department of Public Health to create Tools for Techs, a program that led to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's 2008 Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools Excellence Award for its exemplary efforts to improve indoor air quality for students, teachers, and staff.
