Karl F. Schmid, PE, LEED AP, is a construction consultantbased in Los Angeles, California. He holds a BCE from the CityCollege of New York, a MS degree in civil engineering fromStanford, and an MBA from Cornell University. He has held positionswith the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Cornell University, CityUniversity of New York, and the City of New York's Department ofBuildings. Besides this book, Mr. Schmid has authored ConstructionCrew Supervision, Construction Estimating, and the Concise Encyclopediaof Construction Terms and Phrases, also published by Momentum Presss.
