Über den Autor


Patricia Ann Watts Kelley , PhD, RN, FNP-C, GNP-C, FAANP, is Health Sciences Officer at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Research and Development, Washington DC, and on faculty at Excelsior College Department of Nursing. She is also Associate Professor in the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Graduate School of Nursing, Bethesda, MD. Dr. Kelly was Executive Director of the TriService Nursing Research Program and Director of Nursing Research at the National Naval Medical Center, in addition to other academic and clinical positions. She was also President of the District of Columbia Nurse Practitioner Association and President of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. Dr. Kelly has authored numerous research articles and been published in a variety of journals. She is currently retired as a Captain in the United States Navy. Christine E. Kasper , PhD, RN, FAAN, is Professor and Senior Research Scientist at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Nursing Services, Washington, DC; Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD; and Member of the Governor's Committee on Spinal Cord Injury Research in Maryland. Dr. Kasper has held faculty positions at the schools of nursing and medicine, UCLA, was Research Chair at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, has directed doctoral programs at Johns Hopkins and the USUHS, and has served as Visiting Scientist at NIH National Institute on Aging. She is founding editor of Biologic Research in Nursing . She has received numerous awards for outstanding research and teaching and is an invited Fellow of the ACSM. Dr. Kasper has been PI on over 20 funded research projects and has been Co-PI on many others. She has published over 40 refereed journal articles and more than 20 book chapters, including 7 chapters in recent ARNR volumes.
