Ian Bullock spent most of his career in higher education as a manager and instructor of an Access to Higher Education course with many discipline-related pathways that aimed at preparing mature students without formal qualifications for university study. His previous publications include Democratic Ideas and the British Labour Movement, 1880-1914 (co-authored by Logie Barrow) and Romancing the Revolution: The Myth of Soviet Democracy and the British Left.
