Über den Autor
DIANE ISAACS was born and educated in Los Angeles. After her children were almost grown, she returned to school, earning an AA with Honors for Superior Achievement in Political Science from Pasadena City College, where her work included independent research on the Holocaust. She then received a B.S. in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College, an M.A. in Marriage and Family Counseling from Phillips Graduate Institute. In 1994 Diane completed her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Her specialties include Management of Stress, Human Sexuality, Menopause, and the Psychology of Color. She is specially trained and certified to deal with issues of grief and has been on the faculty at Pasadena City College, where she taught Early Childhood Development. A national and local advocate representative for the International Fibromyalgia Network, Diane counsels individuals for the network on coping with the disease, Crisis Management, Referral Services, Dual Career Marriages, Human Sexuality, Groups, Self Esteem, and Relationship issues, and is working with families to deal with chronic illness, death and grief. Diane's professional speaking experience includes Stress in the Medical Marriage for the National Council on Family Relations Annual Conference Program in Dallas, Texas. She has facilitated many workshops on self-esteem and its importance in everyday life, and workshops for the Southern California Arthritis Association on Fibromyalgia. A guest speaker on human sexuality at the First World Congress on Electroejaculation for the Infant International Symposium, she has published papers and spoken to physicians' wives on Stress in the Medical Marriage for the Los Angeles County Medical Association Alliance. Professional memberships include: LACMA (Los Angeles County Medical Association Alliance); American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists; the California Association of American Marriage and Family Therapists. Residing with her husband Jim, in La Cañada, California, Diane now spends her time in a small private practice and writing. Her next book will take the reader through how she and Jim dealt with the losses of Molly and Monet, how the two new spirited poodles, Mindy and Mandy, fill their days with love, and more on how one deals with the increasing turbulence occurring in all our lives today.
