Beneficiaries of Deceit
A recent graduate of a financially foundering Boston college finds himself ensnared in the Peruvian jungle, fighting questions of morality and ethics as the sacking of a ruin is masterminded by a professor at the college. The professor also preys upon female students while he fences the ruins' stolen treasure in an effort to save the campus from bankruptcy. Does the plan succeed?

Über den Autor
Christopher Hallowell is the author and/or editor of seven books that range from investigative journalism to memoir to profile. Beneficiaries of Deceit is his first a work of fiction, partially inspired by unknown ruins he was introduced to in the Peruvian jungle when he lived in that country. He has been on the staffs of numerous magazines as an environmental or science editor and writer and has contributed articles to many magazines including Time, The New York Times Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, and The American Scholar. A professor of journalism at Baruch College (CUNY), he is a graduate of Harvard and received an MS in journalism from Columbia University.
