A. B. Atkinson is Warden of Nuffield College at Oxford University, and has been Professor of Economics at the University of Essex, Visiting Professor of Economics at MIT, Professor of Political Economy at University College, London, Tooke Professor of Economic Science and Statistics at the London School of Economics, and Professor of Political Economy at the University of Cambridge. His work in public economics in particular, currently focused on income distributionand poverty, has been wide ranging and influential.
