Joshua David Stein, 32, writes about food, travel, fashion and style for publications like Esquire, the New York Times, T: The New York Times Style magazine, New York magazine, Food & Wine, The Guardian, Wired and Vice, for whom he writes food-based erotica. He is currently the restaurant critic for The New York Observer, and was formerly the senior editor of Departures magazine, the editor of Black Ink, the editor-in-chief of BlackBook magazine, not all at the same time, obviou sly. He is the co-author of StyleCity: New York (Thames & Hudson, 2009). He lives with his wife, Ana, and two children, Achilles and Augustus, in Morningside Heights.
