The Bhagavad Gita, often referred to as simply the Gita, literally means The Song of the Bhagavan and is a 700-verse sacred Hindu text that constitutes a section of the Hindu epic Mahabharata. The Gita essentially narrates the dialogue between the prince Arjuna and his guide, Lord Krishna. Krishna instructs Arjuna to fulfil his K¿atriya duty as a warrior and kill his relatives, and what follows is a dialogue of diverging attitudes concerning the attainment of liberation.
