Alice Hill served at the White House as Special Assistant to President Barack Obama and Senior Director for Resilience Policy on the National Security Council. As a member of Obama's climate team, Hill led the creation of national policy regarding catastrophic risk, including the impacts of climate change. Hill previously served as Senior Counselor to the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, as an ex-officio member of the Third NationalClimate Assessment, a supervising judge in California, and as chief of the white-collar crime unit in the Los Angeles US Attorney's Office.Leonardo Martinez-Diaz is Director of the Sustainable Finance Center at the World Resources Institute, where he leads the Center's work to help drive finance into activities that promote sustainability and combat climate change. During the Obama Administration, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy and Environment at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, representing the United States in international climate negotiations and multilateral bodies. He is the author ofGlobalizing in Hard Times: The Politics of Banking-Sector Opening in the Emerging World (Cornell, 2009) and co-editor, with Ngaire Woods, of Networks of Influence? Developing Countries in a Networked Global Order (Oxford University Press, 2009).
