Fundamentals of Liquid Crystal Devices
From laptop computers and mobile phones to digital cinema, LiquidCrystal Displays (LCDs) are integral components in an increasingarray of highly desirable consumer electronics and communicationdevices, and are already the predominant technology used in flatpanel displays. This inter-disciplinary book is intended as an introductoryguide to the fundamental properties of liquid crystals and theirapplications in display and photonic devices, providing a basicunderstanding of the physics, optics, electro-optics, and materialaspects for state-of-the-art display and photonic devices.Fundamentals of Liquid Crystal Devicesincludes:* A comprehensive ove…
