Dean Philip Bell, Ph.D. (1995), University of California, Berkeley, is Dean/CAO of the Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies in Chicago. His research focuses on late medieval and early modern Germany and he is author of Sacred Communities: Jewish and Christian Identities in Fifteenth-Century Germany (Brill, 2001). Stephen G. Burnett, Ph.D. (1990), University of Wisconsin-Madison, is Associate Professor of Classics and Religious Studies, and of History at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is the author of From Christian Hebraism to Jewish Studies: Johannes Buxtorf (1564-1629) and Hebrew Learning in the Seventeenth-Century (Brill, 1996), and numerous articles on Christian Hebraism and Jewish printing in the early modern period.
