The Avro Lancaster was the RAF's most famous and successful heavy bomber of the Second World War. Used predominantly at night, 'Lancs' dropped 608,612 tons of bombs in 156,000 sorties in the period 1942-1945. Über den Autor
Dr Martin Robson is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Exeter and a member of the Corbett Centre for Maritime Policy Studies. He is a specialist in British grand strategy, maritime global conflict and the Royal Navy during the age of sail. He is also an expert in contemporary UK maritime strategy and security. He holds a PhD from the Department of War Studies, King's College London, is a former Caird Senior Research Fellow at the National Maritime Museum and the author of numerous books, articles and pamphlets on many aspects of naval, military and aviation history.
