James W. McAuley is Professor of Political Sociology and Irish Studies and Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise at the University of Huddersfield, UK. He has written extensively on various aspects of Northern Irish politics and society and has produced a number of books and articles dealing with unionism and loyalism. A regular media commentator on Northern Irish Affairs, he is a recognized expert on Ulster unionism and loyalism.
