Lisa L. Ossian is the author of The Forgotten Generation: American Children and the Second World War and The Home Fronts of Iowa, 1939-1945 (both available from the University of Missouri Press). She is Codirector of the Iowa Studies Center and Professor of History at Des Moines Area Community College. She lives in Des Moines, Iowa.
