Reason and rationality represent crucial elements of the self-image of human beings and have unquestionably been among the most debated issues in Western philosophy, dating from ancient Greece, through the Middle Ages, and to the present day. Über den Autor
Maria Cristina Amoretti is post doctoral fellow in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Genoa, Italy. Her primary research interests are in the fields of Epistemology and the Philosophy of Mind and Science. She wrote Il triangolo dell'interpretazione. Sull'epistemologia di Donald Davidson (2008), La mente fuori dal corpo. Prospettive esternaliste in relazione al mentale (2011), co-wrote Piccolo trattato di epistemologia (2010), edited Natura umana, natura artificiale (2009), and co-edited Knowledge, Language, and Interpetation. On the Philosophy of Donald Davidson (2008), and Triangulation. From an Epistemological Point of View (2011). Nicla Vassallo is Full Professor of Theoretical Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Genova, and is part of the teaching staff of the Doctorate in Philosophy. Her primary research and teaching areas are Philosophy of Knowledge and Epistemology. She also has serious research interests in Feminist Philosophy, Metaphysics, Philosophical Naturalism and Scepticism. Her latest sole-authored work is Per sentito dire. Conoscenza e testimonianza (2011) and her latest co-authored work is Piccolo trattato di epistemologia (2010). Her most recent edited book is Donna m'apparve (2009), and her most recent co-edited book is Terza cultura. Idee per un futuro sostenibile (2011). She regularly contributes to the cultural pages of various magazines and newspapers.
