In spite of his not very extensive work Jacobsen's international influence is rather strong. In Germany both his novels and poems were widely read and they are known to have influenced both Rilke and Thomas Mann just as it has probably made impression on Lawrence. His works include: Marie Grubbe (1876), Niels Lyhne (1880), and Mogens and Other Stories (1882).
