Mark Garnett teaches politics at Leicester University and is a biographer of Willie Whitelaw and Keith Joseph. His other books include The Conservatives in Crisis, The Snake that Swallowed its Tail: Some Contradictions in Modern Liberalism, and Modern British History: The Essential A-Z Guide. He is also the editor of Sir Alfred Sherman's memoir Paradoxes of Power: Reflections on the Thatcher Interlude.
