For many years now, high-resolution CT has been an indispensable tool in the evaluation of patients with suspected diffuse pulmonary disease. Today, owing to continuous technical improvements and in particular the introduction of multidetector CT, very detailed images of the lung can be obtained in every patient undergoing chest CT.
