In the early 1960's the image of a superhero was someone with a square jaw, a muscular build, and a quick smile whose biggest personal problem was trying to keep their girlfriends from guessing their secret identities. RUSSELL W. DALTON is associate professor of Christian education at Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas. He is the author of Faith Journey through Fantasy Lands: A Christian Dialogue with Harry Potter, Star Wars, and The Lord of the Rings and Video, Kids, and Christian Education, as well as numerous articles and columns. He has led a number of national and regional conferences in Christian education and religion and popular culture.
