John Grady , who served as managing editor of Navy Times , has been published in Naval History , the Disunion series in the New York Times , the Times ' book-length collection of essays on the Civil War, the Civil War Monitor's Front Line , and is a contributor to the Naval History and Heritage Command's 150th anniversary of the Civil War blog. A resident of Fairfax, Virginia, USA he continues to write on current defense and national security issues for the Naval Institute, Government Executive, Breaking Defense, and Scout Communications, Inc.
