Howard Roger Garis (1873-1962) was an American author, best known for a series of books, published under his own name, that featured the character of Uncle Wiggily Longears, an engaging elderly rabbit. Other series written by him include The Curlytops series, The Daddy series for Little Folks, The Dick Hamilton series and The Young Reporter series. He also wrote many books for the Stratemeyer Syndicate under various pseudonyms.
