Arbeitszeitflexibilisierung in der Praxis
In this paper it is investigated whether the adjustment of the number of workers to changes in output, expected output and orders has altered over the time period 1963 to 1983. After discussing the possible reasons for such a development, this hypothesis is tested with data from fifteen West-German industries. No evidence in support of the view that adjustment costs have generally increased could be found.
