MARTHA C. PENNINGTON is Distinguished Professor of Linguistics at Elizabethtown College, Pennsylvania, USA. She formerly held the positions of Powdrill Professor of English Language Acquisition and Head of the Language Research Centre at University of Luton, UK, and Professor of English at City University of Hog Kong. Her published works include Phonology in English Language Teaching: An International Approach and, as co-author with Rodney Jones, Researching and Teaching Pronunciation (forthcoming).
