John Wayne Janusek is associate professor of anthropology at Vanderbilt University. He is the author of Identity and Power in the Ancient Andes: Tiwanaku Cities through Time and several chapters in Tiwanaku and its Hinterland: Archaeology and Palaeoecology of an Andean Civilization, vol. 2. He has conducted archaeological research in the Andes over the past two decades.
