Flatland
Flatland is both a mind-bending exploration of physics and a satirical novel simultaneously. The story revolves around a world of two-dimensions where the protagonist is visited by a three-dimensional being. While a thoughtful philosophical work about explaining higher dimensions, Flatland is also a satirical commentary on social stratification and modern politics. If it sounds odd, it is. However, it is well worth the read to understand what it is about. It is both thought provoking and insightful while highly entertaining.
