Über den Autor
Born in Chester, Pennsylvania in 1833, Charles Morris was an American of English heritage, and this shows in his writing. The Aryan Race: Its Origins and its Achievements is a celebration of Anglo-Saxon peoples' rise to global power and dominance. Morris clearly saw the English-speaking world as the pinnacle of human achievement and writing in 1988, he believed that the domination of the world by White Anglo-Saxon Protestants would be eternal. After working as professor of languages at the Academy of Ancient and Modern Languages until 1860 and then in business until 1878, Charles Morris began his writing career as a journalist and by penning dime novels. The Aryan Race: Its Origin and its Achievements is one of his first significant books, although in the frontispiece he is credited as author of A Manual of Classical Literature. He would go on to write various histories of the United States and textbooks, including The Wonderful Century, 1800-1900: Its History and Progress in 1899. Morris died in 1922 before the true horrors of World War I had been fully understood and also before anyone could have predicted what the 20th century had in store for peoples of European origin.
