Policing Gangs in America
Policing Gangs in America describes the assumptions, issues, problems, and events that define the police response to gangs in America today. The primary focus of the book is on the gang unit officers themselves and the environment in which they work. The book is broadly focused on describing how gang units respond to community gang problems and analyzes the police response to gangs in the context of community policing. The book also makes several recommendations for policy and practice changes related to police gang units.
