Costs of Crime and Justice
In this book, Mark Cohen examines the theoretical and empirical approaches used to assess the cost of crime to victims and society and although the book's underpinning is tangible and rigorous statistical analysis, it does not presume technical or mathematical knowledge on the part of the reader. Amongst topics discussed are the history of the topic, the cost of crime to victims, the cost of crime to third parties such as governments and society in general. An attempt is made to put an actual financial figure on the cost of these crimes.
