Klaus Kramer is responsible for Scientific Affairs of Nutraceuticals with BASF Aktiengesellschaft, Ludwigshafen, Germany. A member of the German Nutrition Society and the International Society of Exercise and Immunology, he received the Diploma of Human Nutrition (1986) and the Ph.D. (1991) degree from the University of Giessen, Germany. Peter-Paul Hoppe is the Head of the Nutrition Research Station at BASF Aktiengesellschaft Offenbach/Queich, Germany. He received the D.V.M. degree (1966) from the University of Munich, Germany. Lester Parker is Adjunct Professor, Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy, Los Angeles. He is the author, coauthor or coeditor of over 700 journal articles, book chapters and books, including Antioxidants in Diabetes Management, Biothiols in Health and Disease, Flavonoids in Health and Disease, Free Radicals in Brain Pathophysiology, the Handbook of Antioxidants, the Handbook of Synthetic Antioxidants, Lipoic Acid in Health and Disease, Oxidative Stress in Dermatology, Redox Regulation in Cell Signaling and Its Clinical Application, Retinoids, Understanding the Process of Aging, Vitamin C in Health and Disease, and Vitamin E in Health and Disease (all titles, Marcel Dekker, Inc.). Dr. Packer received the B.S. (1951) and M.S. (1952) degree in biology and chemistry from Brooklyn College, New York, and the Ph.D. degree (1956) in microbiology and biochemistry from Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut.
