Jeffrey Burton Russell
Inventing the Flat Earth
Columbus and Modern Historians
Buch
The illusion that the earth is flat still persists, and this is Russell's attempt to correct it. He discusses geographical knowledge in the Middle Ages, examines what Columbus and his contemporaries really did believe, and looks at how the error was propagated and how it grew.
