Built heritage, in its broadest sense consists of an individual or group of buildings, structures, monuments, or installation or remains, which are associated with architectural, cultural, social, political, economic, or military history. The baolis or natural water springs of Jammu region are unique examples where ecological and environment considerations have led to sanctifying of perennial water sources since ancient times. In grained into of the life of rhythm of hill and high land communities of outer Himalayan ranges of Jammu regions. These sacred springs have evolved as cultural institutions that not only showcase social, religious practices but also are windows to native art and architecture. [...]

Über den Autor
The author is presently working as an assistant professor of history in Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar (Punjab, India). He has done Master of Philosophy in history in 2007 and Doctor of Philosophy in 2013 in history from Jammu University. He has worked an academic counsellor of history in IGNOU- Jammu, from 2007 to 2014. He also worked as an assistant professor of history in Chanderprabhu Jain College, Delhi. He has published more than 17 research papers in national and international journals along with three books. He has qualified UGC-NET and JRF-ICHR.
