A memoir, first published in 1974, which also relates 'encounters' of the author and others with God. It has the ambitious and controversial aim of defending Christian mysticism. It affirms that daily coming to God in prayer is as great an evidence of being the Lord's as mystical converse with God. Yet for some the question is instead whether mysticism can provide such evidence at all, since the experiences are so rare and personal it is quite impossible to convey to others what is enjoyed. Über den Autor
A gifted pastor, preacher and evangelist, the Revd Murdoch Campbell also won the esteem and deep appreciation of a wide public as author of around seventeen books. These include 'Memories of a Wayfaring Man' and 'In All Their Affliction', along with biography, sermons and pamphlets. Among more recent publications, edited by David Campbell, are his diary, 'The Suburbs of Heaven', and a collection of his Gaelic hymns with translations, entitled 'Tobraichean Solais' or 'Wells of Joy'.
