Francis Bacon was so inspired by the Picasso exhibit in 1927 at the Paul Rosenberg gallery in Paris that he decided to dedicate himself to painting. Anne Baldassari is the world's preeminent Picasso scholar and curator at the Musée National Picasso in Paris. She is the author of several works and exhibition catalogs, including Picasso and Photography (Flammarion, 1997), Picasso Working on Paper (Rizzoli, 2000), and the recent blockbuster Matisse-Picasso (MOMA/Tate Gallery, 2002).
