Dorothy L. Sayers (1893-1957) was an English Anglican author, poet, and scholar. Best known for her detective novels featuring the peerless Lord Peter Wimsey, Sayers also penned numerous plays and volumes of poetry, translated Dante's Divine Comedy, and wrote various essays and books on education, literary criticism, and theology.
