John Voorhees focuses his practice on litigation and compliance counseling, particularly on environmental, health care, fraud and white collar matters. John has defended Superfund, Clean Water Act cases and a wide variety of other civil and criminal cases. He has also represented hospitals and a disease management company in disputes with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and is experienced litigating hospitals' Medicare reimbursement claims against CMS, as well as, fraud, waste and abuse claims. John spent 11 years as a federal prosecutor in the Organized Crime & Racketeering Section of the U.S. Department of Justice before entering private practice in 1988.Robert A. Woellner professional experience includes senior environmental risk management positions with consulting, insurance, laboratory, and geotechnical companies. He has significant experience in environmental risk assessment and management, environmental insurance, analytical services and the development and implementation of environmental management systems. Mr. Woellner serves on several boards, teaches college classes, and has published extensively on environmental risk management issues. He holds a B. A. in Geology from Middlebury College and a M. S. in Marine Geology and Geophysics from the University of Miami Rosensteil School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. Mr. Woellner is an ISO 14001 Lead Assessor and a member of the U. S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC 207.Christopher L. Bell environmental practice focuses on administrative, criminal, and civil litigation and compliance counseling under all of the major environmental statutes addressing air, chemicals, remediation, water and waste. His enforcement experience includes conducting internal investigations in both criminal and civil contexts, responding to grand jury investigations, and negotiating consent, probation, and debarment agreements. Chris is also actively involved in regulatory advocacy under the major environmental statutes, ranging from writing comments to representing clients in rulemaking petitions in the courts of appeals.
