Über den Autor


Dr Thomas Hadjistavropoulos is a Research Chair in Aging and Health, Professor of Psychology, and a Past-President of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA). He is the Director of Centre on Aging and Health and leads the Health Psychology Research Lab at the University of Regina. Moreover, he serves on the editorial boards of several academic journals including Canadian Psychology, Journal of Aging and Health, Ethics & Behavior, BMC Geriatrics, and Assessment. He is internationally recognized as an authority on pain among seniors and on ethical issues in health care. He has been honoured through a long list of prestigious awards and distinctions, including a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Investigator Award, Election to the status of Fellow of the CanadianAcademy of the Health Sciences (CAHS), Election to the status of Fellow of the American Psychological Association as well as of the Canadian Psychological Association, Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation Achievement Award,Saskatchewan Health Care Excellence Award and many others.Dr Heather D. Hadjistavropoulos, a professor of psychology and director of clinical training at the University of Regina, holds a PhD in clinical psychology, and is a registered doctoral psychologist in Saskatchewan. Dr Hadjistavropoulos founded the Psychology Training Clinic at the University of Regina, and received a Canada Innovation Foundation grant to develop a state of the art Clinical Health Psychology Area for teaching, research and practice at the University of Regina.She also founded and directs the Online Therapy Unit for Service, Education and Research which is a unit focussed on improving access to evidenced based mental health care. Recent achievements include being elected Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association and President (2012) of the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies, and receiving the Award of Excellence in Professional Training from the Canadian Council of Professional Psychology Programs, and the Career Achievement Award from the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation.
