He is the co-author of the international bestseller Scrum: The Art of Doing Twice the Work in Half the Time, written with his father, Jeff Sutherland, the co-creator of Scrum.Previously, he was an award-winning correspondent, producer, and Baghdad Bureau chief for NPR, covering the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Arab Spring, and the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
