Phoenix Cities
The Fall and Rise of Great Industrial Cities
Phoenix Cities explores what lessons can be learned from regeneration in various urban areas in order to inform the regeneration of 'weak market cities.' It provides an in-depth look at seven European cities which fell into decline following de-industrialization in the 1970s, and it examines their steps to regenerate and recover. Discussions of practical interventions are provided which will be of great value to all those interested in urban regeneration and renewal. The book shows how cities have survived and thrived following boom and bust.
