Über den Autor

Eric Rosswood is an LGBT activist, author, and father. He is a former Chapter Leader for Marriage Equality USA, a previous member of SF GLAAD's Leadership Council, and a former Board Member for San Francisco Pride. Rosswood and his husband, Mat, adopted their son through open adoption and after realizing there was a lack of resources for same-sex couples looking to expand their families, he wrote a book called Journey to Same-Sex Parenthood: Firsthand Advice, Tips and Stories from Lesbian and Gay Couples. The book thoroughly covered adoption, foster care, surrogacy, assisted reproduction, and co-parenting so that people can make the best decision for expanding their own families. Journey to Same-Sex Parenthood was a hit and praised by people such as Daniel J. O'Donnell (New York State Assembly Member), Max Disposti (Executive Director, North San Diego County LGBTQ Resource Center), Craig Ramsay (Fitness Expert and Reality T.V. Star on Bravo's Newlyweds: The First Year), and many others. Gay San Diego even said the book was ...destined to be the resource book for the decade for LGBTQ couples. Rosswood has been a contributor for The Huffington Post and a writer for the New Civil Rights Movement. He has been quoted in numerous outlets such as AOL News, Yahoo! News, CBS News, New York Parenting, The Washington Blade, OutBoise, The Bay Area Reporter, The Next Family, Gay San Diego and many more. Rosswood was a keynote speaker at the Modern Family Alliance's Lifecycle of the Modern (LGBT) Family Conference, and he was also a panel speaker at the 2016 Annual Family Weekend in the Midwest event hosted by the Family Equality Council. After the birth of his son, Rosswood realized there were numerous challenges gay dads had to deal with that straight parents don't, from answering ridiculous questions like, Where's his mom? to having to come out as gay to strangers all over again on a daily basis. This resulted in him writing a follow-up book called, The Parenting Bible for Gay Dads: Everything You Want to Know But Are (Mostly) Afraid to Ask. The highly anticipated book is expected to be released in the Fall of 2017.
