This book will address a number of urgent themes in education today that include multiculturalism, the politics of whiteness, the globalization of capital, neoliberalism, postmodernism, imperialism, and current debates in Marxist social theory. Peter McLaren is Distinguished Professor in Critical Studies, Donna Ford AttallahCollege of Educational Studies, Chapman University where he serves as Co-Directorand International Ambassador for Global Ethics and Social Justice of thePaulo Freire Democratic Project. He served as Chair Professor, Northeast NormalUniversity in Changchun, China (2015-2019) where he is Honorary Director of theCenter for Critical Studies in Education. A Fellow of the American EducationalStudies Association, Professor McLaren is the recipient of three lifetime achievementawards, and a number of honorary doctorates and book awards. His writingshave been translated into 25 languages. He is the co-founder of Instituto McLarende Pedagogia Critica, Mexico.
