Daniel is a book of extraordinary spiritual lessons, the first half of which focuses on the dramatic experiences of Daniel's life as a prisoner of the Babylonian Empire. The second half opens a divinely inspired window onto the future generations of mankind and God's future intervention into the affairs of man. But it is not easy to understand or interpret.
