Rüdiger Schaldach is head of the research group for Land Use Systems at the Center for Environmental Systems Research (CESR), University of Kassel, Germany. His research interests include spatial modelling and simulation of human-environment systems as well as questions related to sustainable land management and global change implications for ecosystems and societies.Karl-Heinz Simon is a systems researcher, associated to the Center for Environmental Systems Research (CESR), University of Kassel, Germany. His research interests are in modelling and simulation, socio-cybernetics, and in systems approaches to society-environment relationships.Jens Weismüller is a senior researcher of the Environmental Computing Team at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ). His research interests include algorithms and HPC implementations for hydrometeorologic as well as deep Earth applications.Volker Wohlgemuth is a Professor for Industrial Environmental Informatics at the HTW Berlin, University of Applied Sciences. His research fields are material flow management, modeling and simulation, mobile computing and environmental management information systems.
