Über den Autor


The Authors: Anna Hicks McFadden, Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Foundations at Western Carolina University, holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of South Carolina. Her publications include the book Speak Softly and Carry Your Own Gym Key: A Female High School Principal's Guide to Survival, as well as chapters and articles on women leaders in education. Penny Smith, recently retired, served as Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Foundations at Western Carolina University. She holds two doctorates - one in history from Rice University and another in education administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her recent work includes publications on standardized testing and rural education. Both authors are former classroom teachers, principals, and central office staff members.
