Über den Autor


The Editors: Susan E. Israel is a literacy consultant for Burkhart Network, LLC, specializing in creative media productions for early literacy development. She received her Ph.D. in reading and educational psychology from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Her research agenda focuses on reading comprehension and child-mind development as it relates to literacy processes in reading and writing. She has worked with the Alliance for Catholic Education at the University of Notre Dame, and was awarded the 2005 Panhellenic Council Outstanding Professor Award at the University of Dayton. She was the 1998 recipient of the teacher-researcher grant from the International Reading Association, where she has served and been a member for over a decade. Cynthia A. Lassonde is Assistant Professor of Elementary Education and Reading at the State University of New York College at Oneonta. She received her Ph.D. in philosophy of education from the State University of New York at Albany. A former elementary teacher and teacher researcher, her research interests include the teaching of writing and critical inquiry pedagogy. She has authored numerous articles in professional education journals such as Language Arts, Literacy Teaching and Learning, Support for Learning, and Youth and Society, many of which are products of teacher research in her elementary and college classrooms. She is editor of the New York Association of Colleges for Teacher Education's journal Excelsior: Leadership in Teaching and Learning and Chair of the Teacher as Researcher subcommittee of the International Reading Association.
