Why should we study ethics if no one ethical theory is the right one? The answerTaking People Seriously: A Defense of Ethical Theory provides is a simple one. They are all attempts at pulling people out of their self-centeredness and shifting their focus to finding the best way to treat others. Now an associate professor in the Department of Philosophy at Kent State University in Ohio, Dr. Williams teaches courses in introductory ethics, ethical pluralism, and principles of thinking. Her articles have appeared in numerous journals including the Southern Journal of Philosophy, Philosophy Now, Philosophy Today, and the Journal of the History of Ideas.
