Main Tectonic Events and Metallogeny of the North China Craton
This book focuses on the metallogeny and main tectonicevents of the North China Craton from early Precambrian to Phanerozoic. Itcovers the Archean crustal growth, Paleoproterozoicrifting-subduction-collision processes, Great Oxidation Event,Meso-Neoproterozoic multiple rifting, Phanerozoic reworking of the North ChinaCraton, as well as metallogeny related to above different processes. The NorthChina Craton is one of the oldest cratons in the world. It has experienced acomplex geological evolution since the early Precambrian, and carries importantrecords of secular changes in tectonics and metallogeny. It provides asystematic review and new re…

Über den Autor
Mingguo Zhai is a Research Professor at the Institute ofGeology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; a Professor at NorthwestUniversity (China); a Guest Professor at the University of Chinese Academy ofSciences and Jilin University, and a Visiting chair professor at Sun Yat-SenUniversity. He received his B.Sc. (1976) from NorthwestUniversity (China),and his M.Sc. (1982) and Ph.D. (1989) from the Chinese Academyof Sciences. He was elected member of the Chinese Academyof Sciences (Academician) in 2009. His professional fields cover Precambriangeology, metamorphic geology and petrology. His research focus is on earlycrustal evolution, continental geodynamics and metallogeny. Yue Zhao is a Research Professor and Vice-Director of the Instituteof Geomechanics, ChineseAcademy of Geological Sciences, Beijing. He earned abachelor's degree in geology from Changchun College of Geology in 1982 and a MSdegree in structural geology and tectonics from the Chinese Academyof Geological Sciences in 1986. His research interests include structural andtectonic evolution of East Asian and the East Antractica. He firstly propopsed that the Jurassic deformations in northern North ChinaCraton is related to geotectonics transition from Paleoasian system andPaleotethyan system to Paleopacific active continental margin of eastern Asia. He is also the first one explained the meaning ofthe Pan-African events in Prydz Bay, East Antarctica and its inference on EastGondwana tectonics. Taiping Zhao is a Research Professor at the GuangzhouInstitute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His researchinterests include magmatism and related ore-forming processes. He has beenfocused on the study of the igneous rocks and related ore deposits in NorthChina Craton and East Qinling-Dabie orogenic belt in the last two decades. Hiscurrent researches mainly consist of two aspects, major Precambrian geologicalevents and related ore-forming processes on the southern margin of the North China craton, and the petrogenesisand tectonic settings of the Mesozoic granitoids and metallogeny of theassociated Mo-Au-Ag-Pb-Zn ore-deposits on the southern margin of the NorthChina Craton.
