Advances in Optics Manufacture

The Asia Pacific region has become a manufacturing hub for optical components and optoelectronics. These optical devices are widely used in imaging optical systems, such as various consumer and scientific products, instruments and lighting systems, etc. Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).The papers cover most recent research results and are grouped as follows: Chapter 1: Design and System; Chapter 2: Fabrication; Chapter 3: Instrumentation; Chapter 4: Laser; Chapter 5: Measurement; Chapter 6: Optical Information Processing.Ninety-five papers from the August 2012 conference explore the design of optical systems, fabrication of optical components, instrumentation, lasers, measurement, and optical information processing. Three contributions from the Guangdong University of Technology present a fast tool servo with adjustable stiffness and a flexible bridge hinge driven by piezoelectric ceramic. Other topics include image stabilization for digital binoculars, a small pitch tool for removing middle spatial frequency errors, thulium-doped fiber lasers, measuring track irregularity on high-speed railways, and target recognition.
